The MLS Cup Playoffs have once again showcased the best of youth talent, bringing to the forefront players who have not only demonstrated exceptional skill and determination but have also shown potential to become future stars in professional soccer. Our scouts have had the privilege of closely observing these players and have compiled a list of the top 50 standout players from the tournament in U15, U16, U17 and U19 divisions. These athletes have impressed us with their performances, and we believe they represent the Next Generation of soccer talent in North America. Below, you will find detailed scouting reports on each player, highlighting their unique abilities and contributions to their teams during the playoffs.
Philadelphia Union U16

Gabriel Wesseh is one of the most exciting rising youth players in America. He stood out as one of the most skillful players in Nashville and possibly in all of MLS Next. Gabriel possesses great physical attributes and breakaway speed that allows him to bypass defenders and consistently break lines in the attacking third. His mental strength is equally impressive, as he exhibits a Kobe Bryant-like mentality, driven to dominate and win every game at all costs.
As a left-footed player with excellent passing and shooting techniques, Gabriel was on the majority of set pieces for his team, consistently creating goal-scoring opportunities. His shooting, vision, and dribbling skills have earned him a 5-star rating from our scouts. Gabriel’s overall flare and ability to both create chances and finish with precision makes him a player to watch closely in the coming years.
LA Galaxy U17
Midfielder
Gabriel Arnold exhibits an immense amount of composure, making him stand out as the calmest player on the pitch throughout the event. Playing in the number six position, he excels in finding the ball in tight areas and dictating the game’s tempo for his team. Despite his current size, which may initially seem like a disadvantage, Gabriel demonstrates remarkable defensive intelligence, intercepting passes with precision and committing fully to his challenges. His low center of gravity allows him to position his body effectively, turning his size into an advantage that constantly deceives opponents.
Gabriel’s confidence in receiving the ball in tight spaces and his responsibility in taking the most important penalties with ease underscore his impressive capabilities. Cedar Stars U19
Winger
Ransford Gyan was extremely impactful for Cedar Stars U19 throughout the event, helping lead his team to the finals of the tournament. His technical abilities are exceptional, and he showed a strong commitment to his defensive responsibilities and high pressing of opponents. In the final third, he was very effective in 1v1 situations, demonstrating an excellent sense of timing when entering the box and showcased great finishing ability throughout the playoffs. Overall, Ransford’s technical prowess and relentless work rate make him a constant threat on the field, capable of creating and capitalising on scoring opportunities with ease.
LA Galaxy U17
Center Back
Jose Magana, also known as Pepe, was the MVP for the U17 bracket, achieving an outstanding accomplishment as a center-back, including scoring a goal in the finals to secure the championship. He brings composure, exceptional distribution, and strong leadership to the pitch, making him an indispensable player and a driving force behind his team’s success. Known for his great aerial ability and clean technique, Magana excels at building out from the back and breaking lines with precise passes. He was a consistently outstanding performer throughout the MLS Cup Playoffs, leading his team to back to back championships.
FC Delco U16
Forward
A standout player from FC Delco’s U16 squad that made headlines after winning the Cup. Michael Capretto is a nightmare for defenders. Michael has an instinctive eye for goal, and he showed that with the sheer number of times that he found the back of the net in this tournament. His relentless pressure keeps defenders in constant discomfort. Known for always being around the goal during scoring opportunities, Michael excels in 1v1 attacking and possesses great speed. He is capable of playing anywhere in the front three, but excels when playing as the sole striker. Technically sound and a lethal goal scorer, he played a crucial role in helping FC Delco achieve their success.
Chicago Fire U15
Winger
Darris Hyte is a young rising talent who may not yet be well known, but he made a significant impression throughout the tournament. He is a composed and calm player, recognized for his honest and direct approach to the game. Highly effective with tremendous potential, Darris consistently positions himself around the goal and demonstrates exceptional scoring ability. As an electric winger, he excels in 1v1 situations, showcasing impressive skills and relentless energy on the field. His dynamic play and knack for creating scoring opportunities made him a standout performer throughout the event, leading his team to success and being rewarded the MVP in the finals.
LA Galaxy U17
Goalkeeper
Owen Pratt once again proves himself as the top goalkeeper in the tournament, leading his team to a well-deserved victory after previous disappointments in the GA Cup. Known for his calm demeanour under pressure, Owen effectively commands his defense and showcases exceptional athleticism. His dominance in net is particularly evident in high-stakes shootouts and crucial matches. At just 15 years old, Owen already possesses the height and skills necessary for a professional career, continually improving his shot-stopping and ball-playing abilities. Owen is a reliable presence in big-time games and will certainly have a bright future with LA Galaxy.

Forward
Ruben Ramos is Mexican-American who plays as a traditional number 9. Ruben has already begun making a name for himself for his key goals and performances in MLS Next Pro and has already made his MLS debut. He continues to dominate when returning to the Academy level. Ruben played a key role in helping LA Galaxy win the whole tournament, specifically with his performance in the final where he scored a hat-trick against Charlotte FC. He has scored many clutch goals, made critical plays, and consistently proves to be a difference-maker on the field. Ruben’s impact was instrumental in his team’s success, showcasing his talent and determination. The next question for Ruben will be translating this success to the professional level in MLS.

Jared Cardenas made a significant impact at the MLS Next Cup with his impressive ability to consistently find the back of the net. His standout performance included a hat-trick and an assist early in the tournament, showcasing his remarkable scoring prowess. Jared’s contributions were instrumental in FC Cincinnati’s unexpected deep run in Nashville, earning him the prestigious Golden Boot. Atlanta United U15

Ignacio Suarez consistently demonstrates his prowess as a big-game player, reliably delivering when it matters most for his team. Seamus is a winger who carved apart his competition during the tournament and played a pivotal role in his team’s journey to winning the championship. Seamus was one of FC Delco’s top performers in their championship run. His relentless attacking style on the wing and exceptional work rate were remarkable to witness. Seamus is a natural winger, able to take players on by cutting inside for a shot or down the line for a cross. Seamus’ ability to consistently break down defences and create scoring opportunities made him a standout player throughout the tournament.

James Donaldson is a prominent name in the goalkeeper class of the U15 group, standing out once again for Atlanta during the MLS Next Cup. Grant Gilmore is a defensive rock for FC Delco, playing a key role in his team’s success, including defeating highly-favored teams like the Philadelphia Union. He is a silent leader on the field, known for his exceptional recovery speed and solid defensive capabilities. Grant’s prowess is evident in his ability to rarely be beaten in 1v1 duels or for pace, making him a formidable presence in defense. A fast winger with flashy moves, Rocket was able to lead Charlotte on an unexpected run to the MLS Next Cup Finals. Rocket has been a well-known name in MLS Next for over a year now, with his flashy skills on the wing and his direct play to goal. Formerly with Atlanta United’s Academy, Rocket recently made a move to Charlotte after being named an All-Star in MLS Next in 2023. Capable of producing beautiful goals from all areas of the pitch, Rocket managed to find the back of the net in the finals of the U17 division, despite the result not going in favor of his team.
Toronto FC U17
Defender
Elijah Roche demonstrated remarkable composure and skill beyond his years while facing older and more experienced opponents. His seamless integration into the U17 team and immediate impact underscore his great potential. Roche’s athleticism is exceptional, making it difficult for forwards to surpass him. He consistently shows up for big games and asserts his presence on the field, showcasing qualities that promise a bright future with Toronto FC. Throughout the event he was able to break lines with his dribbling ability opening up games consistently for the TFCs attack.
Philadelphia Union U17
Defender
Jordan Griffin has emerged as one of the top left-backs in the U17 division. Partnering with Neil Pierre, arguably the best center-back in the league, Jordan has consistently delivered crucial performances for Philly, including notable contributions on the score sheet. He has a great mixture of strong technical abilities on the ball and defensively is well positioned and very good in duels. Jordan is a player that stood out throughout the event.
Weston U17
Forward
Matu Garcia, a relatively unknown player in the MLS landscape before the event, demonstrated his exceptional abilities during the MLS Next Cup with Weston FC. As an athletic striker with a strong goal-scoring instinct, Matu proved influential in every match he played, consistently active and involved in play. He is deceptively extremely athletic, highlighted by his impressive vertical jump, further enhancing his impact on the field.

Dixon is a formidable force in the U16 age group. Dixon is capable of playing anywhere in the front 3, and excels in making runs in behind defences. Off the ball, Dixon is relentless in his press and consistently wins back possession for his team, embodying the phrase “defending starts from the front”. He excels in setting up teammates and finishing chances, making him a threat in front of goal. Beyond his on-field skills, he is recognized as a fantastic teammate and a leader, always willing to work hard and go above and beyond for his team. His ability to consistently position himself in goal-scoring threats makes him a player with potential to excel beyond the academy level, and he is a player that should not go unnoticed.

Winger/Forward
Vitaliy is a silky dribbler who operates effectively on the wing, using his pace to attack opponents. He remains remarkably calm under pressure, consistently making things happen on the field. Vitaliy’s ability to navigate through defenders and create scoring opportunities showcases his skill and composure, making him a valuable asset in any attacking lineup. An American-Ukrainian, he recently received his first call-up to the American Youth National Team. What is just as impressive as Vitaliy’s technical ability is his mentality. Vitaliy possesses a winner’s mindset that does not let any obstacle set him back. Chicago Fire are very high on Vitaliy’s potential, already rewarding him with multiple appearances in MLS Next Pro.

Malik is a complete striker with a clear understanding of the position and an eye for goal. Malik is clinical in front of goal, combining height with impressive speed. Known for effective pressing and linking up play well, they bring a dynamic presence to the field. Malik scored a number of goals throughout the tournament, often dribbling through multiple defenders before finding a shot on goal. An American-Bosnian, there were recent rumours of the Bosnian Youth National Team pursuing him.
Orlando City U15
Midfielder/Forward
Jakob Garcia, is a prolific goalscorer whose impact in the attacking third stands out among U15 players this season. He plays a crucial role on a talented Orlando 09 team, contributing significantly from the wing or as a number 10. During the cup, Jakob consistently showcased outstanding 1v1 ability and blistering pace, often bypassing defenders with ease. Alongside his technically gifted teammates, Jakob’s performances mark him as a standout player to watch from this Orlando City squad in the near future.
Philadelphia Union U17
Forward
Playing for one of the most spoken-about teams in the country in the Philadelphia Union U17s, Anisse Saidi leads the line and rightfully so. Anisse is an elite striker, capable of combining with his midfielders and wingers to create goal-scoring opportunities. He has the ability to take players on in tight spaces, and excels at creating separation from defenders to find shots on goal. Alongside numerous other stars on the Union U17 team, Anisse stands out for his ability to create and finish goal scoring opportunities.
Charlotte FC U17
Defender
James Nyandjo, was instrumental in leading his team to the MLS Next Cup Final. Known for his strong defensive skills, composure on the ball, and physical dominance, James stands out as a player poised for future success. He has a terrific profile as a defender and showcased a great willingness to compete every game while wearing the captain’s armband for his team.
LA Galaxy U15
Midfielder
Vicente Garcia, utilizes a low center of gravity to maneuver swiftly with such close ball control. Operating proficiently as a number 8 midfielder, Vicente asserted dominance in matches through skillful play and a commanding presence on the ball. He is an extremely dominant left footed player, which allowed him to open up the opponents midfield and backline in unique ways with his great passing abilities and dribbling skills. He was another influential player in leading LA Galaxy u15s to the final stages of the cup.
Sporting Kansas City U17

Ian strikes fear into his opponents with his imposing size and impressive speed, establishing himself as one of the top defenders in the U17 age group. His contributions were instrumental in SKC’s successful run in the Cup, showcasing his ability to dominate defensively and make a significant impact on the game. Ian is one of the highest ranked defenders in MLS Next and has the potential to break into the first team with SKC in the coming years.
Vancouver Whitecaps U17
Midfielder
One of the brightest prospects in the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy, Liam is a technical and crafty midfielder that creates goal scoring opportunities out of nothing. Already identified by the Canadian Youth National Team, Liam has been the Whitecaps U17 go-to player this season. He led his team on an unexpected run in the Cup and has already been playing minutes in the MLS Next Pro. Liam is an experienced midfielder and lethal in the attacking third, and was recently selected as an All-Star in MLS Next.
Cedar Stars U19
Winger
Mateo De Pinho is an exceptionally fast winger known for his ability to deliver precise crosses into the box. Cedar Stars’ strategy frequently revolves around feeding Mateo in behind the opposing defense. He is very intelligent with his off the ball movement and throughout the playoffs was very effective in providing assists and goal scoring opportunities for his teammates. Mateo helped lead his team to the finals with his terrific wing play, and will continually be a player to watch at the next stage as he is continuing his career in college with Uconn.

“Tyson Espy, was extremely impressive throughout the MLS Next Cup despite playing up an age group during the event. He really showcased his talent playing a crucial role in LAFC’s success at the MLS Next Cup, proving himself as a key contributor to his team’s success.
Philadelphia Union U16
Defender
Luis Olivera, is a classic box to box midfielder with exceptional control and ball handling skills. Known for his composed demeanour under pressure, Luis contributed effectively in both offensive and defensive phases of the game. His outstanding defensive work rate made him a dynamic and exciting player to watch. The future holds great promise for this talented midfielder.
Sacramento Republic U15
Forward
Da’vian Kimbrough, was an exciting talent to watch at the MLS Next Cup. He is a clinical forward who also possesses the skills to drop into midfield. Da’vian physical stature allowed him to be dominant and challenging to defend against, particularly excelling in aerial battles and physical encounters. He has a great eye for goal and consistently positioned himself in areas to score goals and create chances for himself and his team.
FC Dallas U15
Midfielder
Steel Cook is a quick and agile midfielder who played a pivotal role in FC Dallas’ unexpected deep run in the MLS Next Cup. Steel is highly technically gifted, showcasing excellent ball control and the ability to play in tight spaces. He did a great job throughout the event getting on the ball for his team and creating opportunities in the attacking third.
Columbus Crew U15
Defender
Prince is a player that is capable of playing anywhere on the wing, from an attacking position to an outside back. He is a two-way player, able to attack effectively and track back to do the dirty work in defense. He is direct and uses his pace to glide past defenders and find crosses and through balls into the box. A top outside back who has adapted to the position and stood out in the regular season and in MLS Next Cup.

Mateo McLean, is a standout defender who also represents the national team. He possesses excellent ball control and distribution skills, demonstrating composure under pressure in all phases of the game. Mateo excels in reading the game and effectively managing defensive situations, showcasing a mature approach beyond his years. Mateo was another crucial player for Galaxys deep run in the MLS Next Cup.

Matheus De Paula,, consistently stood out as a dominant player and exemplary leader throughout the tournament. He played a pivotal role in his team’s success, demonstrating versatility by effectively contributing across multiple positions. He played a starting role at the cup helping his team to a deep run in the playoffs.

An incredibly skillful winger who isn’t scared to take anyone on. Adriano is a natural winger, and excels in 1-on-1 situations. He combines very well with his striker and midfielders to create goal-scoring opportunities. He is often able to create something out of nothing with his tricky and unpredictable dribbling ability. He is clinical in front of goal and is a key piece of the LAFC U17 squad.
Atlanta United U15
Midfielder
David D’Angelo Sibrian, is a composed midfielder who showcased exceptional positioning and tackling ability in duels throughout the MLS Next Cup. Despite flying under the radar, David has consistently stood out for Atlanta United with his ability to regain possession and dictate play from midfield. His ease of movement across the pitch, coupled with fantastic game awareness, allows him to effectively control the tempo of the game and distribute the ball with precision. He played a vital role in the heart of Atlanta united’s Midfield and their great run to the semi finals.
FC Dallas U15
Winger
Jordyn is an agile and fast winger who likes to take defenders on. Jordyn is most dangerous on the left wing when he can cut inside onto his right foot and find either the near or back post with a shot. Jordyn was a standout player for the Dallas U15s in an unexpected MLS Next Cup run. A Mexican-American, he has already received a call-up to the Mexican Youth National Team and has scored goals while on international duty with them.
Orlando City U15
Midfielder
Jacob Ramirez is a versatile player that can fit in several positions, including in midfield and in the backline. His calm nature on the ball allows him to play out of tight spaces and break opposition’s high press. His stature is large and he has strong physicality to win duels.
Real Colorado U16
Defender
Previously with Austin FC’s academy, Miles recently moved to Real Colorado. Miles was an integral part of this Real Colorado squad that made a deep run in the U16 division. He is strong in aerial duels and has an exceptional understanding of the game that shows in his game IQ. He is a versatile player that can excel in several different positions.
St. Louis City SC U16
Defender
Emiliano Chavez is a top defender in the U16 age group that most often plays as a left-back. Emiliano is a two-way player that excels both going forward and in defensive transitions. Emiliano was an important piece of St Louis’ run in the U16 division, and was recently called into the US Youth National Team.
Tampa Bay United U17

Malike Campbell, was instrumental in Tampa’s unexpected success in Nashville. His versatility allowed him to excel in multiple positions, adapting seamlessly to the team’s needs and consistently delivering strong performances.
